Terence C. Edwards is a proud native of Liberty, Texas, where he completed his primary and secondary education. Born April 9, 1989, to Mr. Herman Gallien and Ms. Sharron Edwards, Terence’s life has reflected purpose and promise from the very beginning.

After graduating high school, Terence enrolled at Prairie View A&M University in 2007. During his college years, he became an active member of The Church Without Walls in Houston, Texas, under the leadership of Dr. Ralph Douglas West. It was during this formative time that his passion for ministry began to take root.

In March of 2010, at the age of 21, Terence answered the divine call to ministry. Just a few months later, on June 6, 2010, he preached his first sermon entitled “You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide” (Jonah 1:1-4) under the leadership of Interim Pastor Rev. Robert Seals at his home church — Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas.

Pastor Edwards was ordained as a minister of the Gospel on June 3, 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies with a minor in Pastoral Ministry from The College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas, in December 2015. Continuing his theological journey, he graduated from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University with a Master of Divinity Degree, further equipping him for impactful ministry and leadership.

At Turkey Creek, Pastor Edwards served faithfully as Youth Pastor, where his leadership left a lasting impression on the next generation. In November 2014, he expanded his service as Campus Pastor of Turkey Creek Houston and later as Executive Pastor of Turkey Creek Liberty. Known as an innovator and motivator, Pastor Edwards continues to inspire and uplift those he encounters.


He is blessed to share life and ministry with his wife, Darcie, and together they are the proud parents of Heavenly Noelle and Terence Edwards II.

On February 19, 2017, Pastor Edwards was called to serve as the 15th Pastor of Turkey Creek Baptist Church — his home church — becoming the youngest pastor in the congregation’s and community’s history. Established in 1866 shortly after slavery, Turkey Creek is one of the oldest African-American churches in Liberty County. Pastor Edwards carries this rich legacy forward with vision, humility, and excellence.

Guided by a servant’s heart, Pastor Edwards has launched ministries and programs that bring hope and healing to the community. During the 2020 pandemic, he led the church in a bold giving campaign that successfully eliminated the church’s debt — culminating in the symbolic burning of the mortgage note.

His faithful leadership has earned recognition throughout the region, including numerous awards and honors. Liberty County officially proclaimed the fourth Sunday in June as Pastor Terence C. Edwards Day, acknowledging his spiritual and civic contributions.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Edwards serves as Executive Advisor for the nonprofit NBCE Community Development Group, and is an active member of several organizations including the Truett Black Student Association at Baylor University, the Liberty County Responds Pastor Group, and the Liberty County Coalition. His most recent milestone is his induction into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., continuing his commitment to leadership, brotherhood, and service.

Pastor Edwards lives, leads, and loves under the power of the Holy Spirit. A gifted preacher and teacher, he is sought after for his ability to deliver the Word of God with clarity, conviction, and compassion. Above all, he strives not only to preach the Gospel — but to live it daily.
