Our beliefs

At Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, we believe that faith is more than words — it’s a way of life. Everything we do is rooted in the Word of God, guided by the Holy Spirit, and centered on Jesus Christ. Below is a summary of what we believe and stand upon as a church family.

The Bible

God

Jesus Christ

We firmly believe the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible Word, serving as the ultimate authority in every aspect of faith, doctrine, and life, guiding believers in truth, righteousness, and spiritual growth with unwavering clarity and power.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16
We believe in one true and living God — eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is equal in power and glory, yet distinct in role and relationship.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” — 1 John 5:7
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, fully divine and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose from the grave, and now sits at the right hand of the Father as our Savior and Lord.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” — John 3:16

The Holy Spirit

Salvation

The Church

The Holy Spirit resides within each believer, guiding us to live righteously, witness with courage, and develop spiritual maturity, fostering growth in faith and character through divine empowerment and presence in our lives.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…”  — Acts 1:8
Salvation comes solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned through deeds but given freely by God as a gift. It’s not our works, but His grace that redeems and saves us.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who have accepted Him as Savior. We are called to worship together, serve others, and make disciples in our community and beyond.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”  — 1 Corinthians 12:27

Baptism

Communion

The Second Coming

We believe baptism by immersion is an outward expression of an inward faith, symbolizing the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4
We believe Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is a sacred ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ, reminding believers of His body given and His blood shed for our salvation.

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’” — Luke 22:19

“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” — 1 Corinthians 11:26
We believe Jesus Christ will return to gather His church and reign eternally. This blessed hope inspires us to live holy, expectant lives, guided by faith and devotion to His promised return and everlasting kingdom.

“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout…”  — 1 Thessalonians 4:16
